Besides making film and video, I like drawing.
My intention is to do draw only in my special notebooks, but often I forget to carry them with me. So I have to draw a lot on loose bits of paper. These sketches can get lost for years in my banana boxes but from time to time I stumble upon one…
Drawing is such a pleasure for me because it is so free and it is a lot faster then making films. Sometimes I make drawings in combination with digital techniques but the problem is that these kind of drawings become easily a sort of a little ‘project’ to me, they are less free.
DIARY DRAWINGS
A diary functions as an idea journal for my work. Personal notes and sketches can lead to projects. The drawing underneath with the hands was part of the pre-production of my shortfilm “Her Voice”. The image of a hand became a key element in the visual vocabulary of this film.
